When choosing a tennis racket, players have three categories to choose from: power, control, and in-between (or ‘tweener). Power rackets are designed for beginners and players with slow, short swings. These players cannot produce much power due to a poor understanding of technique or a lack of physical strength. Typically, power rackets are light and have a stiff frame and an oversized head.

Control rackets are best for expert-level players who can produce their own power. These rackets are usually shorter and heavier than power rackets and have a smaller head and a more flexible frame.

'Tweener rackets sit between power rackets and control rackets and help players improve both their power and control. Everything about these rackets sits in the middle - they are medium-weight and have mid-sized heads and a mid-sized length.
