A member of the German National Honor Society (Delta Phi Alpha) at Montclair State University, Erik Helverson is an outstanding student with a GPA of 4.0. As a foreign language major, Erik Helverson left his New Jersey home in the fall of 2019 to study at the University of Graz in Austria after Montclair State University awarded him the Anita Magistro Udell Scholarship for Language Majors.
Montclair State University scholarships are funded by the school’s departments, alumni, and donors. Scholarships are awarded to students who meet the qualifications of each grant. Montclair State University awards eight scholarships each year, including the Anita Magistro Udell Scholarship for Language Majors.
Anita Magistro Udell was a member of the Montclair class of 1943. She majored in French, minored in Spanish, and furthered her studies as a “study abroad student” at Laval University in Quebec, Canada.
The Anita Magistro Udell Scholarship for Language Majors helps support students as they immerse themselves in a foreign language abroad. The scholarship amount is $1,000 per year.
